Most anglers reduce the amount of bait they use during the winter, but Jim Shelley has bucked the trend and continued to pile it in at the Waveney Valley Lakes complex ¬ with impressive results.
In total, the Lowestoft, Suffolk-based carp tutor has banked no fewer than 21 fish in the last three weeks from various waters on the Norfolk fishery, with this 33lb mirror from G Lake the highlight so far. Incredibly, he has already put in over 80kg of boilies in an attempt to keep the fish active.
